On Saturday May 22 seventy
five of the best natural athletes in the country graced
the stage at the 2010 Circle City Championships. The show
had an amazing energy around it with standing room only at
the finals! Jennifer Dale made sure that the show ran
meticulously on time and the athletes were very well
informed and taken care of.
All competitors were given
gift bags full of excellent goodies including a FULL SIZED
TUB of Quake generously donated by Scivation. Anytime
Fitness, Europa and Scientific Exercise Training (www.sett2win.com) made sure that the gift bags were also
stocked with samples from various other supplement
company’s. Overall winners were given additional full tubs
of protein donated by Beverly International. Other show
sponsors who donated to the competitors were VPX, Nutrex,
Dynatize, Cyto Sport, and Maximum Fitness Supplements.
Things were kicked off with the physically challenged
class. Eric Keen, the class winner, was given a standing
ovation from the audience for his stellar performance and
great physique that he displayed. Jay Manzione edged out
Chuck Zhang in the teen division. In the 60 plus class
Chris Shelton amazed the audience by taking the class win
and showing that you are never too old to be in great
shape! Veteran Ken Montgomery won the 50 plus class. Ken
took top 5 in the very competitive novice division and won
the Master’s Overall. Dennis Slavens edged out Joe Johnson
in the top quality Master 40 and over division.
The Novice short Omar
Henderson had amazing symmetry and size to help him win
the class. Zack Sizemore impressed the audience with his
size and hardness taking a very tough Novice medium class.
Chavis Ray won the novice tall class with very impressive
hardness and freaky vascularity! In the Novice Overall
Omar Henderson took the class. Omar then went on to win
his class in the open short division edging out Zack
Sizemore.
The open tall class was
taken Jeremy Perrin who edged out runner up Joe Johnson
and Novice class winner Chavis Ray. Congratulations to
Jeremy Perrin for being the 2010 Men's bodybuilding
overall champion!
In woman’s bodybuilding
Debbie Black beat out Kerri Irish. Both athletes displayed
great size and symmetry. In the end Black’s combination of
size and leanness were dominant. In the tall division
veteran Traci Ostendorf won beating out Susan Parker. The
overall went to Debbie Black.
Woman’s figure was full of
top notch, quality competitors, who really made the judges
work! In figure novice first time competitor Jeannie
Keating swept the class! Runner up was Karen Hill. Jeannie
was very well defined and displayed superb feminine muscle
for a first time competitor. In figure Novice B Brenda
Krieg beat out Lisa Murdock to take the class. Kris Huerta
won the Novice C class edging out Lori Davis, who was
ecstatic to improve on her performance from last season!
Returning competitor Marisa Wheeler took third in the
class also showing HUGE improvements over last year. In
novice D Kristen Campbell displayed exemplary symmetry and
was able to take the class beating out runner up Jessica
Hansbauer. The overall was tight but in the end the Novice
overall went to Kristen Campbell.
The masters figure was HUGE.
Show promoters Jesse and Jennifer decided to divide the
class into 2 category to place out more athletes and give
the judges a break. Lori Piper took the short class edging
out Maria Mobasseri. The tall class winner went to Donna
Weber who beat out runner up Lori Davis. The overall went
to Lori Pyper.
Lori repeated her victory in
the open short class beating out Maria. Donna Weber took
the medium class edging out Kris Huerta. Kristen Campbell
beat out Jessica Hansbaurer to take the tall class. In the
end the Overall Circle City Figure Champion was awarded to
Lori Pyper.
The MC for the event was Jesse “The Shark” who kept the
audience engaged and the energy flowing. The next event in
Indianapolis is The Natural Indiana to be held at the same
venue on September 11, 2010. This event will have a Novice
division (open to athletes who have never placed first in
any organization) and the Open overalls will be awarded
IFPA Professional eligibility.
The Dales had a great,
seasoned team back stage helpers and judges who kept the
show moving smoothly so the athletes can get over to show
Uno Pizzeria where they received 10% off their bill by
mentioning the show!
