Highlight(s) of Career

My first competition- I learned so much by asking many questions. This allowed me to improve to earn first in my class this year. Of course, my first 1st place win was a great highlight. It was everything I had learned in the past that allowed me the honor of the trophy. It was great to have my family there to cheer me on.

Biggest Disappointment(s) of Career

I don’t see any disappointments. I have a healthy lifestyle with a great diet and workout plan win or lose. Each time I prepare to compete it’s a learning experience. I find new ways to do things as far as nutrition, training, or even just cooking and preparing meals. It’s all a learning experience each time I can’t be disappointed in all I’ve learned.

Best Body Part

Back. I’ve been told my legs, but as a female I’m critical of my legs and glutes.

Worst Body Part

Shoulders, but they are improving finally. I work my shoulders twice per week to improve on my shoulder caps.

Favorite Exercise

Lateral raises

Least Favorite Exercise

Incline DB curls

Traits you admire most in others

Organization. I strive to be organized in every aspect of my life. I find it difficult to maintain. I know others who seem to always have things in order. Patience, I do have patience, but I could definitely improve on this one.

Traits you admire most in yourself

Strong will. I have an amazing mother that has taught me to be strong. I set my mind to do something and I do it period.

Favorite Movies

Rocky

Favorite Band or Performer

Prince

Favorite Food

Nachos with lettuce, tomato, cheese, beef and beans.

Favorite Cheat Day Treats

Nachos, Pizza, Chocolate Cheeeeeesecake, Brownies

Favorite Automobile

Lexus Convertible Coupe

Idea of a Perfect Vacation

BEACH, sun, ocean. I love to go to the beach. Warm weather, sun and ocean breeze are the perfect vacation.

Favorite TV Program

Food Network. I’m always watching for creative ways to make healthy treats. I can watch any show and find ways I can modify the ingredients to fit into my diet at least for the off season.

What would you be doing if you weren't a Bodybuilder?

I would run more local races and marathons. I would also be more active in my community.

Long Term Bodybuilding Ambitions

My goal is to compete in a minimum of one contest per year. I have done 3-4/year in the past two years. I want to be able to focus on my training longer for each contest. I get obsessed and usually can’t wait to compete again. After each contest I’m looking forward to the next one.

What you like most about Bodybuilding?

The changes I see in my physique. Each contest I improve on something whether it’s a body part or stage presence.

What you dislike most about Bodybuilding?

As far as competing- time. When I get close to contest time I spend so much time in the gym I miss out on some family time. But it is only for a few weeks.

What advice would you give other bodybuilders?

In this competitive arena you have to be patient. You have to be spot on with your diet and training. And that may not always show in your physique as soon as you want it to. I’ve had to learn what foods and diet work best for me. It has taken a lot of patience to gain muscle and lose body fat. You can’t give up and you must continue through with a plan be it diet or training to gage how your body will respond. You have to keep on pushing yourself to be the best you can be on the day of contest. And for me win or lose each time I know I have pushed myself to accomplish another goal. You have to be competitive, but compete against yourself. Making improvements in your physique through diet and exercise are healthy habits to keep. So even if you don’t take home the trophy you likely have some great pictures and an awesome experience that you can gain valuable information to improve upon in the future. And don’t underestimate the power of posing! Practice your posing daily.

A little more about me...

I am an Optometric Physician. I spend each work day giving eye exams and I enjoy my work tremendously. I am a big fan of my family. My family is a huge part of my life and I cherish the time we spend together. I’m a beach girl at heart. The beach and ocean give me serenity. I take time off as much as possible to head to sunny warm weather. I hate cold weather unless I’m snow skiing. I love pets and have a small Pomeranian named Chiko.
