New
Bodybuilding.com Book Big Hit
Meridian, Idaho -- It's that time again when people
are coming up with their new year's resolutions.
Getting in shape usually tops them. The writers of a
new book by a locally-based fitness giant want you to
make it more than just a resolution.
Soon more people than usual will be hitting the
treadmills and pumping iron in an attempt to shed a
few pounds as well as the guilt of maybe
over-indulging during the holidays. That attempt is
often very short-lived.
"Most people actually quit within the first two
weeks," said
Bodybuilding.com
CEO Ryan DeLuca.
So, DeLuca and his website editor-in-chief, Kris
Gethin, collaborated on the book Body by Design to get
readers beyond that two-week hurdle. Gethin wasn't
available to interview since he's away visiting family
in his native Wales.
"It tells you exactly how people that stick to their
goals long term, what science has shown, help them to
stick to them long term," said DeLuca.
He said the book was designed as a fitness how-to.
"Not only does it have the 12-week plan that includes
weight-lifting, cardio, a quick plan that will make it
easier for you to get in shape, along with the eating
and the supplements. It also gives you motivation
tips," said DeLuca.
It uses the experiences of the nearly 700,000 members
on
Bodybuilding.com's
Body Space page as well as the thousands of pages of
advice given by DeLuca over the years.
"We took all of the information from all of those
success stories and distilled it down to one program,"
said DeLuca.
While exercising and eating right are keys to
achieving your fitness goals, DeLuca says there's one
other important thing you need to do.
"The secret really to getting in shape is to create
that social network around you of people that are also
in good shape," he said.
So, if you're looking to get back into the gym after
the holiday, DeLuca says Body by Design is a great
resource to give you the motivation to make a
wholesale lifestyle change.
"There are dozens of inspirational stories that have
reached their goals with before and after pictures.
You will see the most amazing life-changing stories,"
explained DeLuca.
Body by Design appears to be a big hit. At $13.80 per
copy, it's already one of Amazon.com's top 100
bestsellers after Tuesday's release.
It's also available at Borders and Barnes and Noble.
