Eleiko Academy Strength Workshop

The Eleiko Academy presents the inaugural Eleiko Academy Strength Workshop, a unique two-day workshop to learn from the greatest Olympic coach in the world of weightlifting, Ivan Abadjiev. The first workshop will be conducted the weekend of February 5th and 6th, 2011 at the Eleiko Academy in Danville, California

Coach Abadjiev has coached and developed 12 Olympic gold medalists, 13 Olympic silver medalists (including '72 Munich medalist Coach Krychev), 4 Olympic bronze medalists, 57 world champions, 64 European champions and coached his athletes to hundreds of world records.

Day 1 - February 5th - BUILDING MAXIMUM STRENGTH FOR MAJOR UNIVERSTY SPORTS

This workshop is directly applicable to any major university sport, and introduces a unique aspect of the strength development of an athlete in order to provide optimum performance and results in that athlete’s specific sport. The physical ability of an athlete in all sports is viewed as an exhibition of three different properties - strength, speed and endurance. In today’s theories about what is important for maximum performance in various types of sports, these three foundational qualities should not be viewed separate from one another, but instead be seen as an integrative system to be trained and developed simultaneously in a specific manner, according to the characteristics of the specific sport.

In this seminar Mr Abadjiev will provide his scientific approach to the integration of training for maximum strength, speed and endurance, an approach that has produced numerous Olympic and World Champions.

Day 2 - February 6th - ADVANCED OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING TRAINING METHODOLOGIES

Advanced Olympic Weightlifting Training Methodologies - A one day workshop focused on Abadjiev's famous "Bulgarian Method"; What's changed, what the current thinking is and how the training has adapted and evolved over the past several years. For advanced lifters and coaches.

We are proud to offer this unique opportunity to learn from one of the greatest coaches in the history of Olympic Sports.
