trainer recognized globally
Dave Avery named
trainer of year for second consecutive time
COBOURG -- Winning
once is good, winning twice is nice.
Dave Avery, a Cobourg resident and personal fitness
trainer who trains at Northumberland YMCA, has been
named trainer of the year by the Fitness, Athletes,
Models and Muscles Entertainment (FAME) World Tour and
Body Proud organization.
FAME, which promotes substance-free and natural
fitness, also honoured Avery with the same accolade
last year.
"David
truly exemplifies the BodyPROUD spirit. He exudes
energy, passion, dedication and encouragement in
helping his clients achieve their personal BodyPROUD
goals," said Jeffery Kippel, FAME co-president and
co-founder.
Since 2005, according to Kippel, Avery has trained
more than 100 competitive athletes.
Together with his wife Julie Avery, who is a
nutritional consultant, Avery has organized two
successful FAME regional bodybuilding and fitness
competitions in Cobourg. |

A third event is
scheduled for April 16, as the opening event at the newly
constructed Cobourg Community Centre. Participants from as
far as Australia and everywhere in between have attended
such regional events in Cobourg.
Kippel said the decision
to hold FAME regional events in Cobourg is due in part to
the hard work of both Dave and Julie Avery, who are very
active in Cobourg's fitness scene.
"We are sincerely honoured to have Dave as part of the
FAME family," said Mindy Blackstein, FAME co-president and
co-founder. "It's great to know he's out there in the
world inspiring people to be BodyPROUD. Dave and Julie
make a great team."
It is only the second time in FAME's history that someone
has been named trainer of the year for the second year in
a row, according to Kippel.
"Being recognized by those that I hold in the highest
regard is truly the greatest distinction of my career-both
professionally and personally," said Avery. "I am
sincerely grateful to the FAME organization for creating a
unique platform for natural athletes."
Avery added FAME exemplifies a healthy way of living.
"(FAME) creates and encourages all those within its
network to reach their highest potential," said Avery.
While working hard every day to promote natural fitness in
the community, Dave and Julie are busy ironing out the
details surrounding Cobourg's regional FAME event on April
16.
