2010 UFE Spring Bash Recap
2010 UFE Spring Bash Contest
Results
Ultimate
Fitness Events (UFE)
spent months hyping up their 2010 contest season as their
best yet and boy did they ever deliver on that! UFE
Spring Bash managed to topple Mayhem 3 as the biggest
event in their short history with 167 competitors, a full
house for prejudging and an over capacity crowd for the
finals! While Mayhem 3 still owns the crown for the
largest attendence with over 2000 spectators through the
day, the only reason Spring Bash couldn’t top it is that
the venue could only hold 550 people at a time. In fact,
not only were the seats sold out, but rows of standing
room were implemented and people still had to be turned
away! And why wouldn’t the crowd come for the amazing
bodies that graced the stage?!
UFE Spring Bash featured and amazing showdown in the
female Fitness Model category in which each of UFE’s
overall Fitness Model Champions from their 3 events in
2009 went head to head! When all was said and done, it
was the Mayhem champion, Karen-Lisa Borders who came out
on top with 2009’s Spring Bash champ, Danielle Ruban
coming in a close second. Last year’s Ultimate Champion,
Karyn Marchment (who beat Karen-Lisa at the Nationals)
made the top 5 as well.
Speaking
to the wide reach and success of UFE was the comeback of
one of Canada’s best lightweight bodybuilders, Paul Luis.
Paul was dominating the scene in the early 2000’s when
another organization was at its height in Canada and used
UFE to stage his comeback. Paul proved he hadn’t lost his
form with a dominating performance and overall win in the
male Bodybuilding category. The male Fitness Model
category saw one of the toughest competitions in the
industry with 18 ripped to shreds physiques, but at the
end of the day, it was UFE newcomer, Andrew Dawes who
dethroned Ultimate Champion 2009, Julian Scott for top
spot. Those were just some of the highlights in UFE’s
best show to date!
Our loyal friends from Inside Fitness Magazine, including
Publisher, Terry Frendo were in attendance as well as
representatives from Robert Kennedy Publishing, Muscle &
Fitness and just about every local newspaper in the area.
FUSION Bodybuilding, one of our sponsors, had their team
capturing the action on film and did special segments on
Junior Bodybuilder, Robin Strand and Super Grandmasters
Bodybuilder, Jim Douglas. In addition, the top industry
photographers that submit to publications and top
supplement companies were in the front row snapping away.
If UFE Spring Bash is a sign of things to come, UFE is on
a one way course to the top of the industry and those who
have stood by UFE are about to enjoy the amazing ride.
With that said, let’s take a look at the results from
UFE’s kickoff event to 2010!
